Those who watched today's Republic Day parade , which is one of the finest parades in the world, would have been surprised at the first time ever foreign contingent from France. They were no match for the regal splendour and fitness of any of our soldiers or contingents. They wore drab uniforms and were strolling rather than marching. The fitness levels, no comments. I have seen on TV the 14 July parade on Champs Elysee and am surprised that the French Govt did not choose one of their better uniformed contingents. The French would have learnt today the true meaning and art of marching, music and regal uniforms. This was a NaMo coup to showcase us against the French. And why cant Doordarshan improve its coverage. Who wants to see the Delhi crowds. We turn on the TV to watch the Services and the tableaux.Every year on the evening of Republic Day, I eagerly wait for the live telecast of parade. Comparing with previous years, this year's telecast is the worst directed by Doordarshan. I tuned into see the parade but, we are seeing less of the parade and more of the politician that present there.Meanwhile, Doordarshan was feeling very proud about the new cameras it had installed everywhere for the Republic Day's Parade but I feel it all went to waste. For the people involved in the live 'editing' had no clue about how to do their job. Live shots from various cameras were being randomly cut in and out of. For example we did not get see a single veteran's face from the veteran's tableau-jhalki!
❝So much time was wasted in random cutaways of crowd❞:So many times when a contingent was marching-moving in Doordarshan had cut to the new camera behind India gate. And there were few more such retarded incidents. Doordarshan I request you to please pull up your socks. I want to watch your content, I trust your news, i listen to your debates and everything but your inferior quality at times is really depressing. Please please improve your quality. You need to get better cameramen with aesthetic senses, and you need much better and professional live 'editors'. I mean when that widow was getting awarded for her martyred husband, you guys had cut away to some random shot! It was really disrespectful and stupidly idiotic!
The broadcast of Republic day parade was not up to the mark, when more than half of the Indian population is glued to their idiot box to enjoy the telecast the whole programme focused more on showing the politicians rather than the contingents who have been practicing for more than a month and a half!! totally dissapointed!Please! Please! Please sort yourself out. I have millions of us have grown up watching you and I want to watch you but you have to improve with time. Whosoever is in charge I will only say, more coverage and importance should have been given to the proceeding's of the parade and not to who is present in Rajpath. You should have bought a good team of videographers than some people who just know to use camera. so bad video shooting of today's parade we wr not able to see anything properly, sometime head sometime legs sometime nothing it was so irritating today.Its good to show audience but not by missing any tukdi. Nothing was good toda, i am sorry to say this all the years i watched through DD but this year it was too too bad. Get some good people WE BELIEVE YOU !
